In February, in Stirling, Scotland, the Digital Youth Work Research Hub from the INCLUDE+ Network will be delivering an activity at the Digital Youth Work Conference 2025, organised by YouthLink Scotland. This event gathers youth workers, educators, and professionals to examine the role of youth work in supporting young people’s online lives.

The Digital Youth Work Conference 2025 is an opportunity for those interested in integrating digital tools into youth work. As part of Safer Internet Day, this year’s theme focuses on “Too good to be true? Protecting yourself and others from scams online”, highlighting the importance of digital literacy and online safety.
Attendees can expect:
- Keynotes from cyber security specialist Jordan M. Shroeder and Brian Baglow from the Scottish Games Network
- Contributions from Dr. Andrew Reid of Abertay University, discussing digital games development
- Discussions on staying safe online, social media risks, and digital inclusion
- Sessions, networking opportunities, and activities designed to improve digital youth work practices
The Digital Youth Work Research Hub will run a workshop to contribute to a better understanding of the field. This session will explore current research and practical methods in digital youth work, providing new ideas, resources, and insights to support young people effectively in their digital lives. Findings from this workshop will be shared afterwards to further develop the field.
We are seeking 10-20 individuals to become Signal Spotters, recording their thoughts and reflections throughout the day. This will support a collective understanding of digital youth work and contribute to further discussions.
