SUMMARY:digital youth work: [co]mapping the field in the making
DESCRIPTION:Despite its growing importance\, digital youth work is still fragmented\, sitting between various disciplines and often divided between policy papers and academic research. Together\, we will reflect on my early analysis of the field and work towards co-mapping existing research to create a more visible and unified presence. \n\n\n\nThis workshop is an opportunity for us to start a journey of mutual understanding. We’ll discuss how/if we can ensure digital youth work serves the sector’s needs while also carving out a space for itself within academic discourse. I also want us to explore some of the contradictions in our theoretical approaches\, recognising how these shape the field and identifying gaps we can address moving forward. \n\n\n\nBy the end of our session\, I hope we will have co-created strategies and networks to enhance the visibility and recognition of digital youth work\, ensuring its growth and development in meaningful ways. \n\n\n\nKey Takeaways: \n\n\n\n\nReflect on the current landscape of digital youth work and its fragmented nature\n\n\n\nCo-map existing research to create a more visible and recognised field\n\n\n\nDiscuss ways to bridge the divide between policy papers and academic research\n\n\n\nIdentify contradictions in theoretical approaches and how they impact the field\n\n\n\nBegin building mutual understanding and actionable steps for the future of digital youth work\n\n\n\n\nWho Should Attend:I am inviting youth workers\, researchers\, policymakers\, tech organisation representatives\, young people in the sector\, educators\, and practitioners interested in the future of digital youth work. \n\n\n\nRegistration via Eventbrite [LINK} \n\n\n\nFacilitator: Dr. Alicja Pawluczuk
