Position: Programme Leader MA New Media, Professor of Feminism, Technology & Society
Dr Helen Thornham is Professor of Feminism, Technology & Society in the School of Media and Communication at the University of Leeds. She is an internationally recognised scholar in digital inequalities with an interdisciplinary research portfolio of projects funded across UKRI including the previous EPSRC Communities and Culture Network+. As Co-Investigator on international projects investigating civic participation, activism and technology, she brings an active international network of NGOs, HEIs and Community organisations across Latin America and the UK. She is White Rose Doctoral Training Partnership Pathway Deputy Director (Data and Communication Pathway) and advisory board member across the UKRI. Through Thornham, INCLUDE+ will connect with the ESRC Digit Research Centre (2020-25), Data Justice Lab (Cardiff) and draw from the work of the previous Not Equal Network+.
