This Exploratory Project, led by Articulate Cultural Trust, aims to bridge the digital divide and promote digital equity by developing a creative e-learning platform. The five-stage development initiative of The Articulate Hub (TAH) aims to provide accessible and engaging learning resources for care experienced learners to thrive in the digital age.
- The Vault: A secure and reliable space for young people to safekeep personal treasures, ensuring confidentiality for young people’s personal information.
- The Studio: An online platform that offers 120 creative short courses to help young people build their skills and broaden horizons.
- The Gallery: A documentation tool for capturing and sharing young people’s creative outputs, developmental activity and growing portfolios.
- The Buddy: Customised AI-assisted Avatar – created by young people. It will be learners’ AI support, a go-to helper who is both encouraging and informative.
- The Library: A digital resource, store or repository for our, and others’, participatory practice. It’s curated as a go-to space for lifelong learning through arts, using social and emotional learning pedagogies at its core.
TAH is more than a learning platform; it’s a dynamic ecosystem that fosters a culture for lifelong creative learning. By offering a rich repository of arts and cultural short courses and providing equitable access to educational opportunities, TAH inspires curiosity, creativity and personal growth among its learners.
Our research focuses on ‘The Studio’, to empower individuals to acquire new skills and adapt to evolving technological landscapes in dynamic and cultural ways. By engaging in design sprints and workshops with young people, experts, and partners to co-design inclusive approaches, ‘The Studio’ will be accessible to all individuals, meet learners’ needs, and maximise its impact.
With a diverse team comprising individuals and institutions – including digital project management, UX design, and community engagement – we’re equipped to develop a learner-centred platform that addresses the challenges of digital access and participation for care experienced Scottish learners.
