IN+ POWER AT PLAY CARDS

The IN+ Power at Play Cards are based on the results of our INCLUDE+ Civic Participation and Digital Equity Workshops, which included participants from the public sector, charities, and NGOs. The workshops took place in April and May 2023. We collaborated with Thrive by Design to develop and implement an inclusive digital participatory methodology. As a result, two 1.5hr workshops were facilitated using Zoom, with Miro and Mural Boards. This was followed, in August, by a self-paced activity focused on co-writing digital civic participation and digital equity recommendations

Our reflection cards are meant to guide your organisation in examining the challenges and opportunities related to digital equity and civic participation.

Each card presents questions to help you assess your current practices, identify areas for improvement, and ensure your initiatives are in line with the needs of the communities you serve.

We suggest using these cards in various settings—team meetings, planning sessions, or individual discussions. The purpose is to promote open dialogue that can lead to practical changes in your approach to digital equity.

As you work through the cards, consider the specific context of your organisation and the communities you engage with. Reflect on how the questions can inform your strategies and help you develop more inclusive and effective civic participation efforts.

These cards are intended to be a resource for continuous learning and adaptation, supporting your work in building a more equitable digital society.

Civic [digital] participation is a networked and collective effort, bound by existing power dynamics.

The outcomes of the workshops included a report and the IN+ Power at Play cards.
