Hosted by YouthLink Scotland, this Fellowship aims to support the youth work sector in Scotland, to better understand how to build ethical partnerships with digital technology companies. In a challenging funding environment, there is pressure on youth work organisations to find new sources of funding. That pressure is balanced alongside a growing awareness of the impact of technology on young people’s lives; a desire to ensure that they experience tech in a rights-respecting, equitable and inclusive way; and beyond that have opportunities to be heard and to influence the development of technology is a way that is positive and beneficial. The fellowship is undertaking important work to understand the interests of the tech sector in supporting informal education, identify opportunities for working together, and to develop guidance for working in an ethical way that preserves the fundamental principles of the youth work sector.
