For this Connective Fellowship, Darran Gillan has designed a programme of cross-sector work to identify mechanisms for change in relation digital equity. Working with a number of organisations who are each exploring digital inclusion and working with vulnerable communities, he aims to help identify and take steps to fulfil a mechanism for change. Mechanisms and outcomes will be different for each organisation but, as the fellowship develops, good practice guides and how-to mechanisms will be built and shared, creating critical mass around change as well as building new practice and knowledge networks between the organisations.
The resulting networks will, it’s hoped, begin to function as sounding boards, critical friends and accountability structures, ensuring both continuation and support beyond the life of the fellowship. Several of the organisations taking part have worked or are working with INCLUDE+ before and have developed the IN+Principles through their work. Continuing to explore uptake and negotiation of these IN+Principles as they are variously embedded (or not) in organisations (their structures, ways of being, approaches, considerations) is the mechanism we will use which will be used to identify and measure digital equity change.
